Community Table's July Farm Dinner, hosted in collaboration with Berkshires Direct
We are honored to collaborate with Community Table on their July Farm Dinner, which will highlight seasonal delights from several farms in the area.
While the pandemic did have some devastating consequences for many individuals and businesses, there were also some silver linings. In our case, one of those was a newfound friendship with Christian, Joann, and the team at Community Table. We clicked instantly due to our shared passion for championing local farms and premium ingredients.
Fun fact: It was over Earth Palate Farms’ Lettuces that Chef Christian, Caleb, and Stephanie all bonded as it’s featured on our menu and is a regular item that Berkshires Direct delivers! You'll also be enjoying it tonight :)
We initially approached them with the idea to host a small dinner where we could highlight different farms per course around the same table for our community. Ultimately, Community Table decided to extend this to their loyal diners... conversations continued, and voilà, a dinner was born!

When Berkshires Direct was started in 2020, it was sourcing from the incredible network of farms in the Northeast through Marty's Local, an amazing distributor based in South Deerfield, MA. As we expanded, we found a perfect warehouse home in Torrington, CT -- a space shared with the Northwest Connecticut Regional Food Hub (NWCT Food Hub), an organization that provides resources and opportunity to both farmers and the northwest CT community that will help to preserve the area's agricultural land for future generations.
Not only did we find a new friend in the NWCT Food Hub Manager, Renée Giroux (Earth's Palate Farm), but also built relationships with their farms to continuously expand the selection of produce we can provide and support more great farmers!
We wanted to share a brief overview of the farms featured on tonight's menu that are also farms we've sourced from through the NWCT Food Hub. We hope to soon source from all of the farms on the menu through the NWCT Food Hub! We're just in the beginning of our journey and can't wait to keep diversifying our baskets and highlighting the farms that help us to do so. In the meantime, check out these five:
